Dial-up Setup
Click Start then click Run. Type "icwconn1" and press OK.
Press Next
Choose "I have an existing Internet account through my phone line or local area network (LAN)."
Then click Next.
Choose "Select this option if you are accessing the Internet using an Internet service provider or a local area network (LAN)".
Then click Next.
Choose "Connect using my phone line".
Then click Next."
Delete the area code if one appears. Type the 7-digit dialup telephone number provided to you by Iowa Telecom. Take the checkmark out of "Dial using the area code and country code".
Then click Next.
Type your Username. This is your Iowa Telecom e-mail address (ie. its@iowatelecom.net).
Type your password. Your password is listed by your username on your account information sheet.
Then click Next.
Leave the dot in "No" and click Next.
Name your connection "IowaTelecom.net" and click Next.
Leave the dot in "Yes" and click Next.
Put your name in Display Name. (ie. Joe Smith)
Then click Next.
Put your e-mail address in the box (ie its@iowatelecom.net).
Then click Next.
The dropdown box should say "POP3".
The Incoming mail (POP3 or IMAP) server should say "pop3.iowatelecom.net".
The Outgoing mail (SMTP) server should say "smtp.iowatelecom.net".
Then click Next.
POP account name should be the first half of your e-mail address (ie. "its"rather than "its@iowatelecom.net"). Type in your password. Do not put a checkmark or a dot in "Log on using Secure Password Authentication (SPA)".
Then click Next.
Put "IowaTelecom.net" in the "Internet mail account name" box.
Then click Next.
Select "No" on this screen and click Next.
Leave the dot in "No" on this screen and click Next.
Click Finish and you are ready to connect to the Internet!
Change Your Dial-up Number
Double-click on My Computer then double-click on Dial-up Networking
Find your dial-up connection icon. Right-click on it and choose Properties.
Delete the area code if one appears. Type the 7-digit dialup telephone number provided to you by Iowa Telecom. Take the checkmark out of "Dial using the area code and country code".
Click Ok and you are ready to connect to the Internet!
