Click Start, then click Run. Type "inetwiz" and press OK.

Choose "Connect using my phone line".

Then click Next.

If this screen comes up, select "Create a new dial-up connection" and click Next. Otherwise, it will advance automatically to the next screen.

Delete the area code if one appears. Type the 7 digit dial-up telephone number provided to you by Iowa Telecom. Take the checkmark out of "Use area code and dialing rules ".

Then click Next.

Type your Username. This is your Iowa Telecom e-mail address. (ie. its@iowatelecom.net). Type your password. Your password will be listed by your username on your account information sheet.

Then click Next.

Name your connection "IowaTelecom.net" and click Next.

Leave the dot in "Yes" and click Next.

If this screen comes up, select "Create a new Internet mail account" and click Next. Otherwise, it will automatically advance to the next screen.

Type your name in Display Name (ie. John T. Doe).

Then click Next.

Type your e-mail address in the box (ie. its@iowatelecom.net).

Then click Next.

The dropdown box should say "POP3".

The Incoming mail (POP3 or IMAP)server should say "pop3.iowatelecom.net".

The Outgoing mail (SMTP) server should say "smtp.iowatelecom.net".

Then click Next.

Account name should be the first half of your e-mail address (ie. "its" rather than "its@iowatelecom.net"). Type your password. Do not put a checkmark or a dot in "Log on using Secure Password Authentication (SPA)".

Then click Next.

Click Finish and you are ready to connect to the Internet!

Change Dial-up Number

Click on Start, then Settings, and open Control Panel.

Double-click on Network and Dial-up Connections.

Locate your dial-up connection, right-click on it, and click Properties

Delete the area code if one appears. Type the 7-digit dial-up telephone number provided to you by Iowa Telecom. Take the checkmark out of "Use dialing rules ". Then click Ok and you are ready to connect to the Internet!
